Experience sharing and performance review meeting was held with Obstetricians and Gynecologists (OBGYNs) of Pink Star network in Khulna region on August 30, 2023. Over 50 OBGYNs under Pink Star program attended the event. SMC diligently engages OBGYNs to offer long-acting reversible contraceptives (LARC) through their private facilities. The meeting reviewed LARC performance, shared best practices and discussed about the role of Multiple Micronutrient Supplements (MMS) in improving nutritional status of mothers and fetus as well as reducing low birth weight babies. The expert panel discussed to increase the use of LARC methods for eligible couples and MMS for pregnant women in private sector. OBGYNs highly appreciated the initiative of SMC for improving maternal nutrition through introducing FullCare (the MMS brand of SMC) and showed their utmost willingness to promote MMS from private sector. Among others, Md. Niajur Rahman, Director, Family Planning, Khulna; Dr. Dalia Akter, President, OGSB, Khulna Branch; Dr. Zannatul Ferdous, Vice President of OGSB; Dr. Nargis Monjura Afroz, Secretary, OGSB, Khulna Branch; Dr. S.M. Shamsul Ahsan Masum, ADCC & District Consultant (FPCS-QIT), Khulna and Quazi Md. Jafrullah, Head of North-South Region, SMC EL attended the meeting and delivered their speech.
