SMC launched an Online Video Commercial (OVC) campaign to break the social taboo related to menstruation on International Women's Day (March 8, 2022). The key message of this campaign was ‘encourage everyone not to be shy about the period - it's a regular phenomenon in a girl's life, not a taboo topic.' Family is the primary contact point for a teenage girl to learn about period and menstrual management issues. Family members should ensure a comfortable learning environment in educating the girls on menstrual management. Many adolescent girls and young women face severe health problems due to the lack of knowledge and awareness about proper menstrual hygiene management. In Bangladesh, women are reluctant to talk about these issues with family and doctors. Joya's campaign inspires women to be bold and moves forward. The viewership of this OVC was about 10 million during the reporting period.
