Professor Dr. Farhana Dewan, Board Director of SMC and President (Elect) of Obstetricians and Gynecologist Society of Bangladesh (OGSB) attended the Experience Sharing and Performance Review Meeting of Pink Star providers at Chattogram district on May 29, 2023. Mr. Toslim Uddin Khan, MD & CEO of SMC; Mr. Kazi  Amirul Hoque, DMD-Commercial, SMC EL; Mr. C N Mandal, GM-Sales, SMC EL and Dr. Salahuddin Ahmed, Addl GM-Capacity Building, SMC also attended the program. A total of 55 OBGYNs under Pink Star Network joined the program. The participants reviewed their performance of Long-acting Reversible Contraceptive (LARC), shared best practices and discussed the way forward for overall improvement of this program.

Dr. Dewan delivered a presentation on LARC program and role of OGSB in its improvement. Dr. Ahmed highlighted the enhancement of LARC service delivery through private sector. He also discussed about implementation of programs related to family planning, reproductive health, child health and nutrition. Mr. Khan, in his short speech mentioned that OBGYNs can play a significant role to increase the awareness about he availability of LARC services by the Pink Star Providers. He also addressed FullCare as one of the best solutions to improve maternal nutrition during antenatal care as well as to reduce low birth weight baby.
