SMC participated in the webinar titled ‘The impact of social marketing 40 years: measuring private sector success in Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR)’. The webinar, hosted by DKT International (a registered non-profit organization and one of the largest private providers of family planning products in the world) held on July 25, 2023.
This event was aimed to share the latest Contraceptive Social Marketing Statistics (CSMS) report, discuss the significance of CYPs as a crucial metrics in Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR). Mr. Chris Purdy, President, DKT International, welcomed the guests and discussed about CSMS report history and their future plan in brief. Experts from the Ministry of Health, Ghana and Reproductive Health Service Coalition (RHSC) and SMC joined the panel discussion.
Among other panelists, Dr. Salah Uddin Ahmed, Additional GM, Star Networks, SMC described the golden journey of SMC and introduced SMC’s program activities, products and the five Star networks (Blue Star, Pink Star, Green Star, Rose Star and Gold Star) including their geographaic coverage in the country. He also discussed about SMC’s life cycle approach of nutrition, its contribution at national level and the future program direction.
