SMC Blue Star Program enrolled 1,020 new non-graduate medical practitioners through conducting basic training across the country in 2018. Facilitators from AITAM Welfare Organization, a well known and reputed training institution, conducted training sessions under the direct supervision of SMC and Clinical Contraceptive Service Delivery (CCSDP) Unit of DGFP. Line Directors, Program Managers of CCSDP/DGFP observed training events in different districts. Training curriculum covers family planning contraceptive methods, maternal, child health and nutrition including growth monitoring of under-five children, referral for LARC/PM and suspected case of tuberculosis. Currently, 6,800 Blue Star providers from most of the upazilas of the country are offering public health priority services in their respective communities under their network.
