SMC participated in 33rd international scientific conference of OGSB

SMC participated in the 33rd International Scientific Conference of the Obstetrical and Gynaecological Society of Bangladesh (OGSB), held during August 1-2, 2025, at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon, Dhaka. The event brought together over 1,700 OBGYNs from across Bangladesh and abroad. The conference was inaugurated by Professor Dr. Md. Sayedur Rahman, Honorable Special Assistant to the Minister of Health and Family Welfare. Other distinguished guests included Dr. Md. Sarwar Bari, Secretary, Medical Education and Family Welfare Division; Prof. Dr. Farhana Dewan, President of OGSB; Prof. Dr. Salma Rouf, Secretary General of OGSB; along with past presidents of OGSB and delegates from FIGO, AOFOG, and SAFOG.

Mr. Moshiur Rahman, General Manager, Field Implementation, SMC, joined a panel discussion on contraception and highlighted SMC's private sector initiatives in making a broad range of contraceptives accessible to all socioeconomic groups in Bangladesh. Additionally, Dr. Salah Uddin Ahmed, Additional General Manager, Star Networks, SMC, participated in a technical session where he emphasized the role of Multiple Micronutrient Supplements (MMS) in enhancing women's reproductive health and lowering the incidence of low birth weight.

SMC also hosted a branded stall at the event, where approximately 400 OBGYNs were oriented on the Pink Star Program, FullCare MMS, and SMC's portfolio of contraceptives. SMC also conducted a hands-on practical session on Interval IUD, Postpartum IUD, and Implant insertion techniques, engaging 42 OBGYNs in skill-based training.
