SOMA-JECT® is an intra-mascular injectable which has been marketed by SMC since 1998 through a network of non-graduate health practitioners branded as Blue Star Providers (BSPs). SOMA-JECT® injection (Depo-Medroxyprogesterone Acetate) is a short term family planning method for women having one child. SMC’s SOMA-JECT® is 99% effective.
SOMA-JECT® contains progesterone hormone and it is proved to be very useful for women who are breastfeeding their babies because it does not have negative impact on their breast milk.

1st dose of 150 mg (1 vial) of SOMA-JECT® within 7 days of menstruation. Next dose is in every 3 months. |

The method works primarily by thickening the cervical mucus making it impossible for the sperm to penetrate. |
